Frequently Asked Questions
- What is a stringscape?
- A stringscape is a portrait made from a single continuous thread wound between hundreds of nails on a circular frame, rendered in black and white. The image emerges purely from the overlapping lines of thread, so every piece is unique.
- Can I order a custom piece from my own photo?
- Yes. Head to the generator, upload your photo, tune the pattern, then place your order. The nail sequence we generate becomes the production spec for your piece.
- How long does production take?
- We string each piece by hand to order. Lead time is approximately [X–Y weeks] from payment confirmation, and you'll receive an email when your piece ships. [OWNER TO CONFIRM: lead time for hand-stringing + dispatch]
- What materials are used?
- Black thread on a white circular frame, approximately 1000mm in diameter. Each piece is strung by hand from a single continuous strand.
- Can I return a custom piece?
- Because each custom stringscape is made specifically to your design, we are unable to accept returns unless the piece arrives damaged. Premade pieces may be returned within [X days] of delivery in original condition. [OWNER TO CONFIRM: returns policy on made-to-order items]
- What payment methods do you accept?
- We accept all major credit and debit cards via Stripe. Payments are processed securely.
- Is my photo kept after the piece is made?
- Your uploaded photo and generated pattern are kept only as long as needed to produce your order. We do not use your image for any other purpose.
